 WELCOME TO MY PORTFOLIO!

Sometimes life surprises us with gifts, so unexpectedly, we can only explain it by saying that they are blessings from above. For me finding a passion for Architecture feels something like that.
I would like to welcome you to my little corner in cyberspace where I have placed some of my work as a student of the Architecture program in the New York City College of Technology (CUNY) in Brooklyn.
This portfolio is divided in three areas where I posted some images and further explanations of the projects here presented. I divided it like this, because I want to better expose three mayor different types of skills: Model-making, CAD drawing and writing. Also, I would say that, in addition to CAD, I am proficient in Microsoft office including publisher, Adobe 9 Pro, and some InDesign.
So, how did it all started? Well, I had switched my mayor a couple of times before, when I found a great job at an Expediter's office. I was in charge of the Environmental Control Board (ECB) violations department and opening and updating files, doing customer service and scheduling hearings at the ECB were my every day activities. After a while I got my Expediter's licence and sometimes I went to the Department of Buildings to run some errands such as filling jobs, getting Microfilms, folders or filling other documentation as needed.  This was the experience that open my eyes to the possibility of expanding my knowledge by learning the AutoDesk drafting program called AutoCad.
Someone recommended me to consider the Architecture program at Citytech and so I did. Then, right after my very first drafting class, I knew I was about to fall head over hills for ArchiTorture (I sometimes call her like that : ) !!)
Since day one, I found myself completely inspired by the great professors I had during my first semester. And as time goes by, my experience and understanding of architecture grows, as well as my vision as to where I want to direct my career.
I see Architecture as an educational tool. I believe it shapes society and at the same time is being shaped by it through the individuals that understand and interpret social needs. Architects act as catalysts for change in urban design and this serves communities around the world. I want to be one of those individuals, I want to be part of the change that is possible when we allow ourselves to start Growing Through Architecture.
